Cure Zits the Natural Way
By LilyD
Zits are a type of skin ailment that mainly affects the skin’s oil glands, especially on the face. Actually, this condition is more technically referred to as acne. Zits may not be harmful to the person but they leave scars on the face that may not easily go away. For this reason, most people who develop them are anxious to find a way to cure their zits.
Before you start trying ways of curing acne, you should understand a bit about what causes zits in the first place. The glands involved produce an oily substance that passes through skin follicles moving it up to the skin's surface. Normally, the dead skin cells flow out of the skin and are washed off gently. Unfortunately, some substances might block the end of the follicle causing a zit to appear there. This condition is known to mainly affect teenagers and young adults of below the age of thirty. This is attributed by scientist to be due to hormonal changes in the body.
When most people get acne, the first thing they do is get creams and lotions to help cure their zits. Nevertheless, what most people do not realize is that the creams and lotions can actually aggravate the situation. They have harsh ingredients and toxins that harm the skin and only hide the symptoms from the surface of the skin. After discontinuing use of the lotions or creams, the symptoms usually become evident again. A better approach is to use natural methods to clear up the problem.
An effective natural acne cure starts by eating a balanced diet and providing the body with all the nutrients that are essential. This therapy cleanses the skin and does not trap dirt on the inside to hide symptoms that lead to inflammation. Some oils are not helpful to the cleansing process of the skin as they clog the pores. These are the oils that have not been refined and therefore contain more oils than the body actually needs. Oils are easily extracted from the body through the skin and so the body uses this process to rid itself of excess oils.
Another way to cure zits naturally is by cleansing the skin and exfoliating it. This means trying to clean from under the surface of the skin and removing the particles that are blocking the surface. When washing the face, a gentle cleanser should be used to avoid irritating the skin and therefore triggering the production of pimples as the skin attempts to protect itself. Exfoliating helps remove the dead cells that form a layer on the skin surface. Exfoliating every three to four days is best as it reduces skin irritation. With the dead skin out of the way the pores are unclogged and the follicles eliminate excess oils with ease.
